Ellero

Ellero
Ellero is the culmination of a lifetime of involvement in the wine business by John and Roberta, and their conviction that their estate vineyard, Pisa Terrace, has the potential to make great wine. They are hands-on grape growers and wine makers, producing Pinot Noir and Riesling from their organically managed vineyard (biogro certified), and Gewürztraminer from a neighboring vineyard. Their wines show finesse, richness of texture and nuance of flavours (no “fruit bombs”). They desire to make honest wines that capture the vibrancy and lively flavour of perfectly ripe grapes, and reflect the exceptional potential and individuallity of their vineyard sites. Ellero is a composite of their surnames, Manell and Montero.

Maori Point

Maori Point
Maori Point Vineyard produces award-winning Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir Rosé wines. Maori Point is named for a  bend on the Clutha river, near Tarras, where Maori prospectors panned for gold in the 1860's. Vines grow on deep glacial gravels to produce wines with intense fruit flavours.  Natural wine-making with minimal intervention allows full expression of the Maori Point terroir.  John Harris and Marilyn Duxson established their vineyard in 2002 and manage it to produce small crops of premium grapes, using sustainable viticulture.  Visitors are welcome to visit the vineyard and to enjoy riverbank picnics and fishing.

TOSQ

TOSQ
Sue and Carl Thompson established their family owned vineyards in 2001.  Situated on two adjoining sites on the west side of the Wanaka/Cromwell Road, they grow and produce Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and a little known variety, Flora, which is a cross between Gewurztraminer and Semillon.   "We manage the vineyards with natural methods, using composts, liquid teas and seaweed to feed the biology in the soils. It is a continuing process – learning to understand the sites, following the seasons, nurturing the vines with a gentle hand.  It is endlessly fascinating, at times demanding, but ultimately rewarding - it is a pleasure we can share!'
